Headset on at the dispatch desk before the lights are fully up. Coffee from the break room pot in the mug with her dog's face on it. Pulls up the board — seventy-eight calls, twenty techs, two emergency no-heats from overnight already pinned to the top.
Morning brief
Stands for the dispatch manager's huddle. Notes the truck nine reroute — her board picks up two of the PMs, the diagnostic goes to truck six. Writes the rule on the sticky note on her monitor: no inside-thirty-minute drive bookings without checking.
Confirms and routes
Works the call queue. Confirms the morning's first-stop appointments by text and voice, dispatches the two no-heats to the closest qualified techs — checks the EPA cert flag on the heat pump call before she sends it, the way she didn't yesterday.
First reschedule
Customer calls — kid woke up sick, can't do the ten o'clock window. Pulls the tech's day, finds a two o'clock opening on the same truck, calls the customer back inside three minutes. Updates the job notes so the tech sees the context, not just the time change.
Skill match catch
About to assign a commercial RTU diagnostic to truck eleven; pauses, checks the skill matrix flag — truck eleven is residential-only. Reroutes to truck two. Two minutes she would have lost to a callback if she'd dispatched it.
Tech in the field
Truck three texts that the compressor swap is going to eat the day and his afternoon needs to move. Pulls his two PMs, finds homes on truck five and truck eight without overtime, calls both customers herself instead of texting — the dispatch manager's rule, but also her preference.

Tomorrow prep
